45 years of BMR electrical & electronic equipment GmbH Quality, precision and innovation, made in Schwabach ' In 2023, the BMR electrical & electronic equipment GmbH celebrates its 45th anniversary. It is no coincidence that in the year of the anniversary the company proves that it basically meets the standards of Industry 4.0 with all of its new developed products. In hardly any other sector the change in technologies can be demonstrated better than in electronics. Accordingly, continuous product development is particularly important for SMEs in order to successfully compete in the market. Review of an exciting company development Rudolf M. Brittling founded BMR in 1978 as a sole proprietorship based in Schwabach. Initially, the focus was on manufacturing for Triumpf Adler and Lehmann railways. At the same time, the development of electronics production and the development of electronic control systems took place. In 1988 BMR took over a part of the switch production from the company named Sasse as a second pillar. At this time, for example, pump controls for truck lubrication and battery chargers were part of the production program. The year 1990 was very decisive by taking over the product range “frequency converter”. Today, BMR GmbH is a specialist in the production of static frequency converters for motor spindles in the power range from 100VA to 3.5 KVA and speeds up to 150,000 rpm. Either for high-voltage or for low-voltage types. In the low- voltage sector, the company is market leader. Customers not only come from Germany or Europe but from all over the world. By the turn of the century, the renewed expansion of the product range including special electronics for the control of lighting film and lamps for the automotive and advertising industry was completed; the switch production was discontinued. In October 2012, the company moved to the current location. The address now is Walpersdorfer Straße in Schwabach. Continuous product development and optimization The competence center of BMR is the development department. It currently consists of four engineers and technicians with a lot of experience and industry know-how. In this department special solutions are developed for special requirements in close cooperation with the customers. The frequency converters are used in grinding, milling, engraving and dressing. Also they are used for a special form of grinding, in which BMR also distributes the various types of spindles. The company's highlight in 2016 was its own developed dressing system DressView. This system is unique in the whole world and meets great interest in the market. Other proprietary developments and products of the recent years including, for example, the control of special lamps for kitchens or cabinet lighting, electronic clocks for sports or special manufacturing processes such as casting of electronics, equipping, soldering or testing of third-party products. In addition to this flexibility, quality control, precision, reliability and traceability are part of the company`s philosophy. Accordingly, the experts have developed a special test bench with a software to record all spindle data and to optimize it if needed. This leads to maximum of transparency with the customer; another trademark of BMR in cooperation between suppliers, partners and colleagues. Team spirit is very important The management is particularly proud of its 20 employees, who are divided into the departments of development, purchasing and sales, testing and service as well as production and warehousing. Many of them have been with BMR for more than ten years. "We see ourselves as a team, both employees and the bosses," explains Managing Director Susanne Brittling. "And we want to make sure that there is a good balance in the age structure between younger and older employees. What matters is competence, dedication and team spirit, "continues Susanne Brittling. Meanwhile, the son, Stephan Brittling and his wife are working in the company. Company founder Rudolf M. Brittling continues to advise. Consequently, the company philosophy includes the renouncement of 'temporary workers' and the renouncement of moving the production department to countries, where the production would be cheaper.
